Platform Terms
Last updated: August 14, 2026
These Platform Terms set out the commercial terms between Slashdev LLC (“Slashdev”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and the partners who hire talent through our platform and the developers who work through our network. They apply to every engagement unless separately agreed in writing. Use of the slashdev.io website and our applications is additionally governed by our End-User License Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Slashdev provides remote engineering talent to partners through our platform. Talent works on a freelance basis and integrates like a regular member of the partner’s team: partners establish their culture, working norms, and requirements, and talent is expected to live up to that standard. Slashdev provides its exclusive, vetted network of senior engineers along with continued support on future recruitment. Our platform model takes thin margins rather than agency-style markups; because of this, Slashdev is not liable for paying talent — partners are responsible for paying their invoices on time so that talent is compensated.
Definitions
- The Partner (or Client): any individual or business that works with slashdev.io to hire our engineers — often signing a Partner Agreement and a Development Talent Agreement with us.
- The Developer: any freelance talent working with us on contracted projects — often signing Slashdev Developer Terms and working on a project with a Partner.
Partner Terms
Payment Terms
Slashdev may bill for hours worked up to twice a month. Invoices are due within 15 days. After the first 7 days from the first billable workday are complete, the Partner is no longer in the trial period. Objections to an invoice must be raised within 14 days from the date the invoice was first sent. All transaction fees for paying invoices (wire, SWIFT, transfer, or card fees) are paid by the Partner — Slashdev receives the full invoice amount after fees.
If payment is delayed 30 days or more from the day the invoice was sent, Slashdev has the right to pause development work until the invoice is resolved. If an invoice remains unpaid 15 days past its due date, the Partner will be charged a fee equal to 1.5% of the invoice amount, recurring monthly for up to 12 months until the invoice is paid. Development talent is paid only when the Partner pays their invoice — many developers rely on this as their primary income, which is why this schedule matters.
Talent Agreement (Non-Solicitation)
The Partner agrees not to hire any talent in Slashdev’s network independently of Slashdev. This covers talent presented to the Partner as well as other talent in our network — in short, the Partner will not poach talent from our network without working alongside Slashdev.
IP Ownership
All billable work done by Slashdev and its talent belongs to the Partner. This includes, without limitation, code, documentation, designs, and copywriting.
Marketing Data
In accordance with standard practice, our marketing materials and case studies may incorporate publicly available information and non-sensitive data pertaining to our Partners and Developers. We respect and safeguard all confidential aspects of our business relationships. By submitting your data to our website or working with us, you agree not to dispute our use of public or non-sensitive information about your project (general tech stack, developers you recruited with us, and overall project goal).
Confidentiality — Matching Period
Slashdev keeps all information shared between the Partner, Slashdev, and development talent during the matching period confidential, and shares it internally only as needed to find the correct talent for the job.
Confidentiality — Ongoing Operations
Slashdev is not responsible for information shared directly between the Partner and development talent. In the event of IP being lost, stolen, or copied by development talent, Slashdev is not responsible: we connect talent to the Partner, and the Partner is responsible for NDAs and other agreements with the talent and bears the associated risk.
Trial Period
The Partner has 7 days from the first day of billable hours to cancel the engagement with the development talent without being liable to pay. After 7 days, special situations should be discussed with Slashdev.
Grace and Notice Periods
- Grace period: for the first 4 weeks of billable work, notice to stop an engagement is 1 working day regardless of contract type.
- Hourly contracts: no notice period after the grace period.
- Part-time contracts:10 working days’ notice after the grace period, given by formal email to slashdev.io. The 10 following days are paid in full (4 hours per working day) even if the talent is not given work.
- Full-time contracts:20 working days’ notice after the grace period, given by formal email to slashdev.io. The 20 following days are paid in full (8 hours per working day) even if the talent is not given work.
Proper planning and notice before the last working day avoids paying for engineers who are not working — and giving proper notice is needed to keep top talent.
Developer Terms
Projects, Contacts & Payment
The Developer works with Slashdev, and follows these terms, on all projects the Developer is presented with or becomes aware of through Slashdev, and will not work independently with projects or employers introduced through the network. The Developer is paid by Slashdev after Slashdev has been paid by the client, on a monthly basis: payment for the previous month’s work is usually made by the end of the following month, with a target payment date of the 25th (this can vary by project). Slashdev is not liable to pay the Developer until payment is received from the client.
Trial Period
If the client is unsatisfied with the Developer’s work after the first month of billable hours or first payment, the Developer may only be paid for up to 50% of their work hours. If the work is deemed very poor by Slashdev, payment may be withheld entirely.
Resignation
Resignation should always be discussed with Slashdev before telling the client. Slashdev expects the Developer to give at least 1 month’s notice to the client before ending a project. Quitting within the first 2 months of a project sacrifices pay for the project due to the investment Slashdev has made in the client relationship.
Independent Contractor Status
The Developer is responsible for their own employment. Slashdev is not the Developer’s employer; the Developer is responsible for their own taxes, pension, healthcare, and related obligations in their country.
IP Ownership
All work done by the Developer belongs to the client being billed.
Professionalism
Slashdev retains the discretion to withhold remuneration for conduct or lack of action considered unprofessional by the company’s standards.
Confidentiality — Clients & Projects
The Developer keeps confidential all work performed with Slashdev and projects through Slashdev, and will not disclose client information to outside parties.
Confidentiality — Rates & Internal Information
The Developer will not disclose their hourly rate to clients, projects, or outside parties, nor internal Slashdev information to external parties. Questions about rate or satisfaction should first be raised with Slashdev so we can work toward what the Developer is looking for in a professional manner.
Hourly Rate
The hourly rate is agreed in an individual contract unless renegotiated in clear written communication before a project starts. The Developer agrees not to attempt to renegotiate the rate after Slashdev has contacted them about a project, especially once connected with the client, and to wait to review their rate until they have been working part-time or full-time for a client for at least 6 months. The rate may be negotiated at any time if the Developer has not yet accepted a potential project. Failure to uphold this professional standard may result in cancellation of the project and sacrifice of outstanding pay.
Choice of Law
These terms, and additional agreements entered into between Slashdev and the Partner or the Developer, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
Changes
We may update these Platform Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date; signed agreements continue to govern per their own terms.
