Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how Slashdev LLC (“Slashdev”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, retains, and discloses information, including personally identifiable information (“Personal Data”), when you use the slashdev.io website, our client and talent platforms, and our related software development and talent services (together, the “Service”).
Your access to and use of the Service is also subject to our End-User License Agreement and, for commercial engagements, the applicable signed agreements and Platform Terms.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
We collect Personal Data that you enter on the Service or send to us directly — for example when you submit a contact or project inquiry form, apply to join our talent network (name, email, CV/portfolio, work history), register for an account, respond to a survey, or correspond with us by email. Wherever we collect Personal Data we make an effort to provide a link to this Policy.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, our servers and analytics tools automatically record certain information (“log data”), including your IP address (from which we derive approximate country), browser type and settings, pages visited, and the date and time of your request. We use cookies and similar technologies (including Google Tag Manager and analytics cookies) to operate the Service, measure how it is used, and improve our marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.
How We Use Information
- To provide the Service and respond to requests — answering inquiries, matching clients with engineers, maintaining accounts, and sending administrative communications.
- For billing and business administration — invoicing, payments, accounting, and keeping our own business records.
- For marketing — telling you about services, events, or content we believe are relevant. Every marketing email contains an opt-out; where required by law (for example in the EU) we only send marketing email with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- For analytics and improvement — understanding how the Service is used, benchmarking, and improving our offerings.
- For safety and compliance — preventing fraud and misuse, securing our systems, complying with legal obligations, and enforcing our terms.
For individuals in the EU/EEA and UK, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests (as described above), your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your Personal Data. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Like most businesses, we use third-party providers to run parts of our operations, and share with them only what they need to perform their function. These include website and cloud hosting (e.g. Vercel, DigitalOcean, Hetzner), network and security services (e.g. Cloudflare), analytics (e.g. Google), payment and financial operations (e.g. Stripe, Wise), our accounting software (e.g. Intuit QuickBooks, which processes billing records for our own bookkeeping), and CRM/communication tools.
- Clients and project teams. If you are an engineer in our network, we share relevant profile and work information with prospective and current clients to arrange and manage engagements.
- Affiliates and related companies, for purposes consistent with this Policy.
- Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.
- Legal requirements. Where required by law or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, protect the safety of users or the public, or defend against legal liability.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
International Data Transfers
Slashdev is based in the United States, and our service providers operate in the United States and the European Union. When you use the Service, your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your country. Where we transfer Personal Data out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, such as using recognized transfer mechanisms (including standard contractual clauses) where required.
Data Retention
We keep Personal Data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes it was collected, including satisfying legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the retention period we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use, and whether we can achieve the purpose by other means. We may anonymize data so it can no longer be associated with you, in which case it is no longer Personal Data.
Security
We take commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction — including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive credentials, and access controls limiting internal systems to authorized personnel. No Internet transmission or storage system is ever fully secure, so please take care in deciding what information you send us.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your Personal Data, subject to applicable law:
- Access — ask us to confirm whether we process your Personal Data and receive a copy of it.
- Rectification — ask us to correct or complete inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your Personal Data.
- Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (for EU/EEA and UK individuals) or applicable regulator.
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California) may have additional rights, such as the right to know what categories of Personal Data we collect and disclose, the right to deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell Personal Data as defined by those laws.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
EU/EEA Individuals
For individuals in the EU/EEA (including Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway and, where applicable, Switzerland and the UK), Slashdev LLC is the data controller for Personal Data processed under this Policy. The “Your Rights” section above describes your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, and the “International Data Transfers” section describes the safeguards we apply to transfers.
Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us Personal Data, please contact us and we will endeavor to delete it.
Unsolicited Information
This Policy does not apply to unsolicited information you provide to us, such as ideas for new products or improvements. Unsolicited information is deemed non-confidential, and we are free to use it without limitation or attribution.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time as the Service and our business evolve. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the revised Policy.
